The Arabian Geo-Frontiers (AGF) is a free, open access, peer-reviewed, online scientific journal that publishs high quality research papers in all aspects of Earth sciences in the Arab World and neighboring areas. Submissions are welcome from the world over, and we promise international quality publication as well as rapid reviewing and editing. The AGF journal calls for original research papers, review articles, short communications, letters to the editor and invited open forums.
Topics and scope
The AGF's broad range of interest serves an international readership that includes industry exploration and mine geologists, as well as, researchers whose common concern is sustainable development based on mineral and water resources, and land use. The subject matter includes geology, petrology, mineralogy, geotectonics, structural synthesis, remote sensing, geophysics, mathematical modeling, and geo-engineering. Furthermore, an attempt is made in all relevant issues, including drilling, sampling, and geometallurgy, to balance the subject matter and to appeal to a broad readership. Related environmental, hydrological and geopark problems are to be addressed to the broadest possible sense. The AGF would practically provide cross learning between various scientific and industrial, as well as economic disciplines.
Instructions to authors
We welcome moderate-size research articles of 5000–10000 words. Longer papers, including review papers, are welcome upon request (made to Dr. Basem Zoheir, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ). Short communications of well-documented short pieces of work, 1500–3000 words in length, should resemble full sized papers in terms of structure and contain the usual main headings. Book reviews are by invitation only. There are no formal limits on length but the editors reserve the right to edit for length and style.
There is no page charge for publication; we publish online.
Submissions can be considered only if one complete PDF file including the manuscript text, all illustrations, and tables is received via our online Manuscript Submission Form. A separate cover sheet must bear the paper’s title, name(s) of the author(s), affiliation(s), email(s), and address(es). The title of the paper only must head the first page of the manuscript proper, followed by an abstract of 150-250 words and six or seven key words or short phrases. Acknowledgements, notes (if used) and references must follow the main text in that order. Tables must be printed one per page, while figure (300 dpi jpg files) and plate captions must be separated.
